Don't Say This!

Short, to the point, and awful! Beyond the obvious advice of, "don't call the Groom a loser!", there were even more mistakes that you want to avoid…

How Many Things Did She Do Wrong?

She Winged It

It sounds like her speech (when it's that short, it's really just a toast) was "winged" and not prepared. Anyone who thought out their speech enough to write it down would have realized they had the wrong words…

Wrong Words

I believe she wanted to say, "Bride, we've know each other a long time. We've seen each other through happy times, triumphs and heartbreaks. And even though I don't know [groom] as well as I'd like, what's important is how happy he makes you. You truly deserve a man who adores and appreciates you for the very special person I know you are. Congratulations you two!"

What she said was "We've seen our share of losers, and I'm glad you found one that will make you happy." What?!? You just told the Bride she's finally found a loser that made her happy! Wrong message…

Wrong Body Language

She starts with a shrug, as if to say "I don't know what to say, and I'm not prepared." Although she stands up straight and speaks clearly, she shrugs again after she says "Best of luck and [shrug] Congratulations". As if to say "I guess congratulations are in order, because I'm not really sure I'm happy for you and I'm not really sure I support your marriage to this [loser]."

Her body language is powerful, but…wrong message again!
