What Happens When You Don't Rehearse

An example of a great speech - it's well-written, it's sentimental and so very sweet. It was heartfelt and straight to the point at a time when the audience has already heard several speeches and many don't want to listen to a long Bride's speech.

But…she fumbled on the delivery.

What Went Wrong?

Reading A Short Speech Straight From The Page

By reading straight from the paper, the words she spoke seemed to be scripted and written by someone else. It sounded insincere (even though I'm quite sure she was sincere.)

If you have a short speech, try to memorize it. Use your written speech only as reference if you go completely blank and need one sentence to get you going so you remember everything else.

Using Words You Wouldn't Normally Say

If the word "imperfection" is not what you would normally say, don't use it now. Go with what feels natural to you, and let people know who you are, and how you feel about your groom.
